レインボームーンストーンは、明るい地色の上に多色のアデュラレッセンスを示すラブラドライトの一種に対する取引上の名称です。 伝統的なムーンストーンと同じ長石族に属しますが、レインボームーンストーンは正長石ではなく、ラブラドライトの一種です。特徴的な虹色の光沢は、石の内部にある微細な鉱物層に光が作用することで生じ、表面全体にスペクトル状の虹色のきらめきを作り出します。これらのラウンドカボションはAAA品質に格付けされており、インクルージョンがほとんどないか全くなく、強いアデュラレッセンスを示します。そのため、完成品のジュエリー製作や再販に適しています。

Rainbow Moonstone Inconsistencies

Edit: OttoFrei CS reached out to me and rectified the stone issue.

I ordered a 5mm and a 4mm Rainbow Moonstone. I was contacted by CS to let me know they were out of the 5mm and asked if I'd like to sub it for a 4mm. I said sure, not a problem, go ahead and sub it. I received the order today and the moonstones are completely different and look nothing alike. While I do expect variation in natural stones as expected, but these two moonstones are completely different. One is clear with a tiny shimmer and one is white with a tiny shimmer. Not what you expect for AAA moonstone.
