Description
Snarling irons are essential tools for metalsmith work involving the forming or repairing of hollow vessels such as bowls, pots, and other enclosed forms. Designed to reach interior spaces that are otherwise inaccessible, each snarling iron features a polished working end and a 90-degree bent end for secure vise mounting.
To use, mount the bent end in a vise with the bend pointed downward so the polished working end faces up. Place your vessel over the area you wish to work on, then strike the snarling iron with a hammer or rod a few inches away from the vise. The polished working end responds by moving upward, striking the interior surface of the vessel with precision. Available in three head sizes to accommodate a range of working applications. Made in the USA.
