Tungsten Vanadium burs are machine-made to ultra-high precision tolerances, producing uniformly consistent geometry across every bur in the set. They cut precious metal smoothly and cleanly with no chatter or drag, which makes them the most popular bur type in the jewelry industry. High Speed Steel (HSS) burs are individually hand-cut and vary slightly from piece to piece; these burs are manufactured to exacting uniformity instead, delivering predictable performance at a lower cost for production work and everyday bench use. The kit arrives with one bur of each size, held in a plastic bur box drilled for 3/32" shank burs.

Compatibility

Every bur in the kit has a 3/32" diameter shaft, the standard size for flex shaft handpieces and rotary tools.

Notes

Tungsten Vanadium burs are not as long-lasting as USA-made High Speed Steel burs. For applications requiring maximum bur longevity, HSS burs may be preferable. Tungsten Vanadium burs typically cost less than HSS equivalents.
