Description
These Value Line tungsten carbide oval drawplates deliver the best quality among imitation SRM-style drawplates on the market. Each plate features tungsten carbide inserts that have been highly polished to produce blemish-free wire with every pull. While the carbide inserts are not as thick as those found on SRM drawplates, the superior polish compensates by ensuring smooth, clean results on finished wire.
This oval drawplate spans a working range of 4.0mm to 5.0mm across 20 holes, making it well suited for producing consistently shaped oval wire in that size range. As with all drawplates of this style, best results are achieved when a quality lubricant is used throughout the drawing process and wire is annealed frequently to prevent work hardening and cracking.
Important: Fancy shaped drawplates, including this oval profile, are intended for use with soft annealed precious metals only and carry no guarantee. Plan your workflow accordingly and always begin with fully annealed stock.
