How we source our metal
A friction earring back holds a post earring on the ear and bears the wear that a thin post cannot, so a back with a wide bearing surface is the one to reach for on heavier drops and on repairs headed back to a customer. These WR Cobb Monster Flower backs are yellow gold filled, with an oversized 9.8 mm flower-shaped pad that spreads the load across the back of the ear and finishes the piece neatly.
The friction fit accepts posts from 0.76–1.0 mm (0.030–0.040 in), which covers the standard post diameters found on most commercial earrings. They are sold by the pack of six, a practical quantity for bench stock or for resale.
