For example, for a 3 mm round faceted stone, select heavy-walled tubing with a 3.5 mm outside diameter (OD)—up to 3.8 mm OD is acceptable. Cut the seat with a 3 mm setting burr, seat the stone, then burnish the bezel closed with the appropriate size punch from this set.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eWe recommend using a small bullet point (Part # 110.342) to polish the insides of the punches before use. These punches can also be modified for additional uses. One method, recommended by goldsmith Peter Rowe, is to cut a slot across the top of the punch with a separating disk, then use an abrasive wheel to slightly lower one side to the slot, creating a cutting edge on the untouched side.
