Amber is an organic gem that was formed millions of years ago when sap from ancient pine trees hardened and fossilized.
Amber artifacts date back to 10,000 BC and Amber has been called nature's "time capsule", known to contain inclusions like extinct plants and small animals. To be called amber, the tree resin must be at least a million years old, otherwise it is classified as Copal, an immature form of amber. Amber typically comes in yellow, gold, and brown colors, but can even appear in white, red, blue or green. Clean with warm, soapy water. Avoid use of ultrasonic and steam cleaner.
