Product Details

This extra-large disk cutter set is built for clean, repeatable cuts in soft non-ferrous sheet. With precision-ground edges and tight tolerances, it excels in a hydraulic press for producing round blanks at 1-1/4" and 1-1/2" diameters. Includes a wood storage box.

Key Features

  • Two oversized punches for large discs: 1-1/4" (31.75 mm) and 1-1/2" (38.1 mm)
  • Sharp, hardened tool steel cutting edges with close alignment
  • Works best in a hydraulic press; also suitable with a proper mallet technique
  • Cutter body can be disassembled to clear stuck material
  • Includes wood storage box for organization and protection

Applications

  • Producing large round blanks for bracelets, pendants, conchos, and decorative elements
  • Studio production where speed and repeatability are important

How to Use

  1. Place the cutter on a rubber or urethane support pad.
  2. Lubricate the punch cutting edge (e.g., a dedicated cutting lubricant).
  3. Insert the sheet and align the desired punch over the cutting aperture.
  4. Operate in a hydraulic press for best results, or strike with a suitable non-marring mallet (avoid nail-driving hammers).
  5. Support the opposite side of the cutter with a same-thickness sheet to keep the tool in alignment and reduce sticking.
  6. Do not exceed the recommended maximum thickness; cut only soft non-ferrous metals.

Care & Safety

  • Keep cutting edges lightly oiled between uses and store in a dry location to prevent rust.
  • If a punch sticks, disassemble the tool to remove it safely—do not pry against the cutting edges.
  • Using a 95 durometer urethane pad under the cutter can extend tool life.
