M. LX 1/10HP Permanent Magnet Low-Speed, High-Torque Motor, C.TXR foot 115V operated variable speed control in plastic housing and your choice of duplex spring style handpiece.

The Foredom LX Series is a special High-Torque, Low Speed flex shaft motor built for the jewelry stone setter. It is a 1/10HP, maximum RPM 5000, permanent magnet ball bearing 115V motor. It is the successor to the no longer in production EE series, R series, & original L series units that were developed for the professional jewelry stone setter. Stone setters work at low speeds, and need high-torque motors that won't bog down under load.

It is recommended that if you use a duplex spring type handpiece that you limit your maximum speed to under 5000 rpm. By using the Foredom LX low speed high torque motor, your duplex spring handpiece will last longer before the duplex spring fails and needs service.
