Gold Leaf is thinner than gold foil. This book of 25 leaves is enough gold leaf to cover 1-1/2 square feet. This is "loose" gold leaf as opposed to "transfer" gold leaf that is used for outdoor work. Loose gold leaf will easily come free from the tissue paper that it is packed on.

This Gold Leaf is approximately 0.1 micron thick.  The thickness can vary and is practically impossible to measure without expensive scientific measuring equipment. Gold Foil is approximately 25 times as thick as Gold Leaf, making Gold Foil approximately 2.5 micron thick.  Just like Gold Leaf, Gold Foil can vary in thickness and is equally difficult to measure.
