The compressed air casting torch Head Only uses compressed air and gas, and is not made for use with oxygen. If used with oxygen, the tip will be damaged. Using compressed air and gas has several advantages for use as a casting torch, and is very commonly used in Europe. A compressed air flame has less oxygen to burn, so it's not as hot as using pure oxygen-however, it's still plenty hot enough to do the job. Compressed air/gas also produces a larger, bushier flame that covers your crucible completely and doesn't add as much oxidation possibilities that a pure oxygen/gas melt can. For best results use with propane, as natural gas won't burn as hot, and will most likely require the use of a natural gas booster. Do not use with Acetylene or Hydrogen gas.
