Product Details

Pen Pals® Disposable Plating Pen delivers up to one hour of continuous plating without a rectifier. Battery operated and self-adjusting up to 6 volts, this affordable pen plater is ideal for 2-tone jewelry, sample lines, touch-ups, and repairs on gold, silver, copper, and brass. Simply soak the fiber tip in a compatible pen plating solution concentrate — up to five minutes on first use — attach the alligator clip to the workpiece, and apply the saturated tip for a bright, long-lasting plate.

This updated version features improved battery life over earlier models. For applications requiring continuous extended use, a plug-in pen plating system is recommended. Discard the unit when plating results begin to decline.

Pen Pals® pens are color coded: the white pen is designated for rhodium pen plating solutions, and the yellow pen is designated for gold pen plating solutions. The manufacturer recommends using a dedicated pen for each metal — do not use one pen for both rhodium and gold.
