EZ Torch Kits Complete with 3 Tips, Hose-Includes Your Choice of Regulator

Bought as a gift for my daughter in law and she loves it.

I'm thrilled with my recent purchases! Getting the Orca EZ torch at such an incredible price is fantastic, and it's my very first beading tool, I absolutely love it. The rectangle bezel block is an amazing addition, and I can't wait to start creating art with it. Plus, Otto Frei's service is truly outstanding. They've earned a lifelong customer in me!

I teach silversmithing classes at a school. I use an acetylene torch in class that requires a tank, regulator, and selection of tips. The cost for my students for this equipment is more than most beginners can afford. So, instead I recommend that they use the "EZ Torch that uses propane and comes with three tips. This torch costs much less than my acetylene outfit , but it can do many (not all) of the functions as my acetylene torch. It's a GREAT and AFFORDABLE torch for beginners to usd in their home shops.

The kit is sturdy and well made. Make sure you tighten the connections enough and check for leaks. I had a leak at the swivel connection and gave it an extra tweak. Problem solved. The knob on the disposable tank regulator could be a little larger, but overall an excellent purchase.

This is one of the best economical torches that you could buy if you’re on a budget. It comes with three different tips. These tips have a small, medium, large. I use my small tip for all my soldering jobs…You can control the flame and you can actually control how much oxygen with the adjustable nozzle that is on the torch. This allows you to reduce your flame to a low heat or a higher heat. I’ve never used the medium tip, but the large tip is fabulous for melting your silver quickly in an ingot or a seasoned crucible. You can also season your own crucibles with the large tip. I truly believe this is a better way to solder your jewelry than trying to use crème brûlée torches, or I can’t remember the other names sorry… but this is a great torch and an affordable price and it’ll help you to not melt your silver because you can control the flame in the heat… I hope this makes since. But I do recommend you investing in a torch that does require gas tank and oxygen tank, when you can afford one. Until then you will be very happy with this orca torch.. If you have restrictions using gas tanks in your home or studio, I recommend that you get the attachment for the small propane tank and not the one that you actually use for your barbecuing. if you don’t have any restrictions, then I suggest you get the big larger attachment and you save money on propane with the larger tank… I really hope this helps you out when deciding if you would like to buy this or torch!

It’s a great torch… I can use it on the if I need to melt my silver, I switch it out with the largest tip and tell ya it gets that silver molting, hot and ready to pour… check your restrictions if you’re leasing a shop. I would recommend getting the smaller adapter that will fit any of the 14 ounce canisters propane instead of getting the one that fits the huge propane tank for barbecues….

A most welcome addition to my bench. A single tank high pressure system. It allows finger tip adjustments to both gas flow and air Venturi while working. Can easily dial back to a reducing flame when desired. Ergonomics are satisfactory, but the Venturi ring can get warm. Quicker start up and shut down than my 2 tank system. I bought the disposable tank system. Quality of construction appears good, but only time will tell. My only criticism is that I would prefer a more supple hose.

Definitely a nice torch ... have done small pieces and large pieces with mine, and its also easy to take to a show with me.

Love this torch. I have used it for approximately 1 year. So easy to use and beats holding the blue propane bottle . I especially like the fact that it is easy to travel with (to classes etc.) Make sure you tighten everything before using and you shouldn't have any problems.

I picked up this torch at the end of last year. I researched all over the web, to make sure it would suit my needs. I Love this torch, just note there are Two Big things about this torch that need to be addressed while using it. One, the knob for the Oxygen to be turned on or off, is VERY touchy. SO much so, that every time I use the torch, it will slide and turn itself off over and over in the course of a project. So it won't hold where you open the Oxygen knob at, it will Always slip because it is a loose knob. Two, you MUST clean the inside of the torch head and torch tip after every use (at the end of each day or night you've used it). I noticed a build up of a light brown oil on the inside of the torch tip and sometimes down in the torch head near where the Oxygen comes in. I unscrew the torch tip each night after and clean both with a Q-tip. If you do not do this Each night once finished, you will get a nasty build up of gunk and white crusty chunks. It won't take very long (matter of a couple of days of use), for that to occur. I knew that when getting the torch, because I did research on the torch online, and read many comments regarding that issue. I don't mind cleaning the torch and tip each night, I just wish the Oxygen knob weren't so touchy and slippery, that it slips constantly while using, and makes the torch go out so often. If the Oxygen knob had more control while adjusting (as in staying put on a tight thread), then this torch get 5 stars.
