Description

Hematite is composed of iron oxide and exhibits a distinctive shiny, metallic luster that sets it apart from other gemstones. A traditional favorite in men's jewelry, hematite has the highest density of any commonly used natural gemstone, lending a substantial, weighty feel that is immediately noticeable when handled. These oval cabochons are genuine hematite — be aware of imitation hematite, sometimes called hemetite, which is composed of compressed iron and lacks the same natural properties.

Each cabochon features a black opaque color with a rich metallic luster and has received no treatments. For care, clean with warm, soapy water; these stones are safe for use in ultrasonic and steam cleaners.
