Description
The Peddiman 52 Raising Hammer by Peddinghaus is a professional-grade raising hammer designed for metalsmithing and hollowware work. Raising hammers are essential tools for building seamless three-dimensional forms — compressing and contracting the metal to create curved, vessel-like shapes without thinning or stretching the material. This 300-gram hammer features two rectangular faces, each longer than it is wide, providing the precise control needed to work metal up from a flat sheet into a raised form.
Features
- Two rectangular striking faces, each oriented longer than wide for targeted compression work
- Used to create seamless raised forms through compression and contraction without thinning the metal
- 300-gram head weight suitable for sustained raising sessions
- Head length of 140 mm for extended reach and leverage during forming
- Asymmetric face dimensions allow the metalsmith to choose the appropriate surface for each stage of work
