Description
Perforated flasks hold the investment mold for chamber-style vacuum casting, where the holes along the wall let molten metal be drawn into the cavity from every direction rather than only from the sprue. Otto Frei builds these from 12-gauge stainless steel so they survive repeated burnout and quench cycles in a production casting shop.
The perforated wall is what separates these from solid-wall flasks: the vacuum acts on the mold through the sides, which helps fill thin sections and detail that a single downward pull can leave short. Seven sizes cover flask heights from 4″ to 8-1/2″ and diameters from 3-3/8″ to 5″.
