These bent square shank STER hallmark stamps are made of precision-cut, heat-treated tool steel and are used for marking silver alloys that are no less than 0.925% fine silver by weight. Each stamp imprints the letters STER, an abbreviation for Sterling Silver. The bent shank design — also known as a gooseneck stamp — allows for marking the inside of rings and other recessed areas that straight stamps cannot reach. These stamps produce clean, sunken impressions on precious metals. Made in the USA and Germany.
Measurement refers to the height of the impression, not the width.
