The Large Wood Dapping Block is a substantial forming tool designed for jewelers and metalsmiths who need to shape large-diameter discs and sheet metal into domed or curved forms. Measuring 6" × 6" × 1-7/8", this block provides two generous hemispherical depressions alongside four half-round grooves, giving you a versatile range of forming options in a single solid-wood tool.
The two hemispheres are located on the top and bottom faces of the block. The larger depression measures 130mm across by approximately 20mm deep, while the second measures 120mm across by approximately 20mm deep — both well-suited for forming large domed components such as locket backs, hollow forms, and decorative elements.
Four half-round grooves run along the sides of the block for the full 6" length, providing consistent channels for forming curved or rounded wire and strip stock. The groove diameters are 8mm, 11mm, 13mm, and 15mm, covering a practical range of forming needs at the bench.
