Stop sawing ovals — punch them out instead. This set of 7 oval disc cutters gives jewelers and metalsmiths a fast, precise way to produce clean oval blanks from soft, non-ferrous metals. Each cutter is individually fitted to its matching hole with extremely close tolerances, delivering crisp, accurate cuts every time. The set arrives in a wood storage box with round holes sized to hold each oval cutter securely.

These cutters are designed for use with a mallet or hydraulic press and are manufactured from properly hardened tool steel for long-lasting performance. Cutting edges are very sharp right out of the box. Made in India.

Notes

• Use on top of a rubber pad for support during punching.
• Apply a cutting lubricant such as Stay Sharp to the cutting edges before use.
• Use a suitable mallet — a brass mallet is recommended. Never use a nail-driving hammer.
• Support the opposite side of the cutter with a sheet of the same diameter metal being cut to maintain alignment and minimize material sticking.
• Do not exceed the maximum recommended thickness of 20 gauge.
• Only cut soft non-ferrous metals. Do not use on ferrous metals.
• Always position cutting edges facing down.
• To prevent rust, keep cutters lubricated between uses and store in a dry location.
• Otto Frei recommends using with a 95 durometer urethane pad to extend cutter life.
