Center Positioning Dies For Disc Cutters-Set of Ten-1/8" to 1-1/4"

This set of 10 steel center positioning dies is designed to help jewelers and metalsmiths cut perfectly centered washers and ring blanks from metal discs. When punching a washer, achieving a truly centered inner hole is the critical challenge — these dies solve that problem precisely and repeatably.

The set is made to fit the V-Line disc cutters 125.1745 and 125.1790, matching up perfectly with all the holes in both cutters. The dies will also work with other round disc cutting sets that have similar hole sizes, though a match with every hole in third-party sets is not guaranteed. Sizes range from 1/8" (3mm) to 1-1/4" (31.7mm), covering the full range of both compatible V-Line cutters.

To use: punch a hole in your metal sheet sized to your desired inner diameter. Place the cut disc under the punch hole corresponding to your desired outer diameter. Insert the matching centering die for that hole to precisely center the disc. Clamp the disc between the upper and lower halves of the disc cutter using the Pepetools clamping device. Remove the centering die, insert the correct cutting die, and punch — the result is a washer with a perfectly centered hole every time.

Compatibility

These centering dies are designed to match all holes in the V-Line disc cutters 125.1745 and 125.1790. They will also function with other round disc cutting sets that have similar hole sizes; however, a complete hole-for-hole match with non-V-Line sets is not guaranteed. Use of the Pepetools clamping device is required as part of the centering process.

Notes

When using these dies with disc cutting sets other than the V-Line 125.1745 and 125.1790, some hole sizes in the third-party set may not have a corresponding centering die in this set.
