Activator-T™ is a mild dry acid salt activator that removes oxides and micro-etches metal surfaces to promote strong metallic bonding for initial and continuous electroplating. Mix as needed with water and use after electrocleaning to brighten and activate parts before plating. No rectifier is required. Supplied as a 2 lb powder concentrate for economical make-up and easy maintenance.

Compatibility

  • Activates and mildly etches white metal, brass, bronze, nickel, steel, silver, and gold
  • Do not use on zinc — do not dip zinc alloys in this solution

Notes

  • Use in a well-ventilated area; wear gloves, safety goggles, and a protective apron
  • Never add powder to water heated above 140 °F (60 °C)
  • Avoid prolonged skin contact
  • Do not mix with ElectroKing™ below 100 °F (32 °C)
  • Change solution when activity drops, pH rises above ~2, or the bath becomes noticeably dirty
  • Process step: use after electrocleaning — rinse thoroughly before proceeding to plating
