Oval Millgrain Tools-Sizes 1 to 15

Oval Millgrain Tools are precision stone setting instruments used to add decorative detail around gem settings. The oval wheel shape is the more popular of the two available shapes and creates small, uniform depressions along the metal edge — an effect that makes stones appear larger and brighter. These tools are not to be confused with the larger millgrain tools used on a lathe for decorating wedding band edges; stone setting millgrain tools are extremely small and purpose-built for fine setting work.

Available in 15 sizes, from No. 1 to No. 15. Size No. 1 measures approximately .35mm across, while the largest size, No. 15, measures approximately .65mm — a total range of only .30mm, with approximately .02mm between each size increment. Each tool is marked with its size number for easy identification. Made in France. Also available in a Round shape and in sets.
