The Foredom H.18D is a lever-style quick-change handpiece designed for use with 3/32" shanks and mandrels. The collet opens by depressing a lever on the side of the handpiece, allowing for fast and convenient bit changes at the bench. As with all quick-change handpieces, it is strongly recommended to always keep a bur seated in the collet when not in use to help prevent damage to the collet mechanism.
This version of the H.18D features a duplex spring connection. Before selecting this model, please read the important usage notes in the Notes section below.

Notes
Important — Please read before choosing the duplex spring model:
- Duplex springs and all parts related to USA-made duplex spring connections carry no warranty.
- Duplex springs must not be bent beyond 45 degrees during use. Operating beyond this angle can cause immediate damage.
- Duplex springs can also be damaged during detachment from the flex shaft handpiece end and may fail even during normal use.
- It is strongly advised to purchase additional inner duplex springs and learn how to replace them, as the inner spring is the most common failure point.
- Replacement inner duplex spring — single piece: Part #134.279 (Foredom HP76)
- Replacement inner duplex spring — pack of 12: Part #134.280 (Foredom HP76B)
- Always keep a bur in the collet of any quick-change handpiece when not in use to protect the collet from damage.
