Fretz F-5 Hoop Stake

The Fretz F-5 Miniature Silversmiths Forming Hoop Stake is a precision-crafted forming tool designed for jewelers and metalsmiths working at a small scale. Built from hardened stainless steel with highly polished surfaces, this stake is used to form hoops, shape bezels, create hollow rings, and perform any type of smithing work that larger stakes handle — but with the control and scale required for fine jewelry work. As with any forming stake, it can also be modified for custom applications.

The F-5 measures 80mm long and features two different-sized polished half-round hoops at either end. The larger hoop is approximately 5mm wide with a diameter just over 17mm, while the smaller hoop is approximately 4mm wide by 14mm in diameter. The end surfaces of both hoops are also highly polished. Because all Fretz tools are hand polished, sizes may vary slightly from stake to stake. Made in Vietnam.

Notably, the F-5 is the only stake in the Fretz Forming Stake series that is not included in the Fretz Forming Stake Set 112.628 — making it an essential add-on for jewelers who own that set and want complete coverage.
