Emerald is considered the world's finest green gemstone and has been highly prized and coveted for centuries, from Cleopatra to European royalty. Emerald is part of the beryl family, and availability of fine quality is limited. Almost all emeralds have inclusions that are visible to the naked eye. The trade term Jardin is used to describe the characteristic mossy-like inclusions found within the stone.
