Oval Blue Onyx Cabochon

Blue Onyx, also know as blue agate, is dyed chalcedony. Chalcedony is made of tiny crystals of quartz that are not visible to the unaided eye and is a popular choice due to its wide range of unique colors, markings and transparency levels. Used in jewelry for nearly 3,000 years, Chalcedony is commonly used for carving and engraving, such as cameos and signets.  Clean with warm, soapy water. Use of ultrasonic and steam cleaner is usually safe.
