White sapphire, also known as colorless sapphire or leucosapphire, is corundum in its purest form. Differing amounts and combinations of trace elements are responsible for most of the colors found in sapphires — and when those trace elements are absent, the result is a naturally colorless stone. Traces of gray, yellow, blue, and brown can occasionally be present; the closer a white sapphire is to fully colorless, the greater its value. These genuine, heat-treated white sapphires offer jewelers and metalsmiths a natural, affordable alternative to diamond with excellent clarity and a bright, faceted appearance suited for a wide range of fine jewelry applications.
Clean with warm, soapy water. Use of an ultrasonic or steam cleaner is generally safe.
