Crafted from the finest heat-tempered chrome alloy steel, they deliver the right feel, action, and balance demanded by true craftsmen — performing superbly on all metals.

The Valtitan line takes precision a step further. Specially treated to achieve 72 HRc on the Rockwell scale — the hardest steel file known — Valtitan files offer superior performance on difficult-to-file surfaces, enhanced corrosion resistance, and exceptional longevity. The treatment also resists metal accumulation in the teeth; a simple knock is typically enough to clear chips. Valtitan files are the go-to choice for platinum work and other hard metals such as stainless steel, while performing equally well on softer alloys. Beginning in 2016, the factory discontinued yellow-painted tangs and now imprints VALTITAN directly on the tang to identify these files.

These Square Needle Files are tapered in both width and thickness, ending in a rounded point, with all sides cut. Glardon-Vallorbe needle files are measured from tip to end of handle and are graded from 00 (coarsest) to 6 (finest) — the higher the number, the finer the cut.
