The E. C. Muller Half-Point graver is a specialized engraving tool unlike any other — E. C. Muller is the only maker of half-point gravers. The half-point shape is essentially half of an onglette (bowed) graver: flat on one side and onglette-shaped on the other. The right-hand version is bowed on the right side during use, while the left-hand version is bowed on the left side. This unique geometry makes these gravers ideal for jewelry, silverware, watch case work, copper and steel plate engraving, linoleum cutting, and fine art applications.
Each graver is individually crafted in the USA from American-made carbon steel, continuing a tradition of excellence established when Edward C. Muller founded his corporation in New York City in 1898. Having learned his craft from the Swiss-German masters of the late 19th century, Muller built a worldwide reputation for high-quality professional hand engraving tools that persists to this day.
