The Dixon Silversmith's T-Stake Anvil Shape #12 is a versatile forming stake suited for a wide range of small to medium forging projects, including bracelets, rings, spoons, hollow conical work, and rectangular work. At 12 inches (305mm) in length, the flat top measures 1–1/4 inches (32mm) wide at the center, with horns tapering to 3/8 inch (10mm) at the tips. All measurements are approximate.
Made of cast iron steel, these stakes are manufactured by Grobet USA in the United States and carry the original Dixon trademark. They are supplied with a smooth basic polish and can be further polished by the user to suit their workflow. Widely used by silversmiths, jewelers, blacksmiths, and metalworkers, the T-Stake Anvil Shape is considered one of the most versatile stakes available for both jewelry making and general metal forming.
For best results, mount on a solid base such as a stake holder or bench vise. Compatible mounting options include stake holder part #112.788 and the Durston bench vise #158.075. The stake may also be seated in the hardy hole of an anvil or driven into a solid stump.
