Grobet USA Three-Square Needle Files are gradually tapered and cut all the way to the point, making them ideal for reaching into tight corners, cleaning up triangular slots, and refining angled interior surfaces with precision. These files are manufactured in Italy — a production shift that took effect in 2015, when Grobet moved needle file manufacturing away from Switzerland.

Jewelers and metalsmiths who require the original Swiss-made standard should note that Glardon-Vallorbe of Switzerland remains the original manufacturer of Swiss needle files. If your file is marked Swiss Made, it was made by Glardon-Vallorbe. Otto Frei stocks genuine Glardon-Vallorbe Swiss Made Three-Square Needle Files (LA2407 / LAV2407) and Three-Square Escapement Files (LE3014) in a wide variety of cuts and sizes.

These Italian-made Grobet USA files are available in four lengths and five cut grades, giving bench jewelers a practical range for both aggressive stock removal and refined finishing work. Not all cuts are available in all lengths — see the Available Options table below for exact combinations.
