The Hi-Heat torch is a small casting and annealing torch for use with Propane or Natural Gas as the fuel and compressed air or bottled oxygen. The use of compressed air or bottled oxygen depends on the tip being used. The complete kit comes with the two compressed air tips that cannot be used with oxygen, and the one tip for use with only oxygen. If bottled oxygen is used with the compressed air tips, the compressed air tips will be destroyed! For fuel, these torches will only work with Propane or Natural gas. Do not use Acetylene with this torch!

Oxygen & Gas Kit, part number 114.152A, includes a single tip for using bottled oxygen and gas.  You can also buy the bottled oxygen and gas tip by itself, part number 114.157. The bottled oxygen and gas tip is smaller than the compressed air tips. The small bottled oxygen and gas tip will deliver a hotter, more concentrated flame. Compressed air with the larger compressed air tips, will give you a larger, bushier flame-but not as hot. Use of bottled oxygen with the compressed air tips will destroy the tips.

The Hi Heat torch is a perfect torch for the crafts person or students who desire an economical torch to cast small amounts of metals (perhaps one or two rings at a time) or for annealing (in the smaller 7" diameter annealing pan).

The Only Game in Town for Natural Gas

We use these in our college Jewelry Studio, mainly because they are one of the few torches (that I have found) that are designed to run on natural gas and compressed air. So we use them because they make for a very inexpensive system. Since they are being used in an academic studio they take a lot of abuse, but unfortunately I haven't ever found replacement valve bodies.
