The Large Value Line 3-Way Jig Vise Mitre Cutter gives bench jewelers and metalsmiths a total of five precise cutting angles in a single compact tool. With three slots — one for 90°, one for 45°, and one for 60° cuts — this jig vise delivers perfectly flat, flush cuts on tubing, wire, and sheet stock. The 60° slot adds 60° and 120° angle capability, while the 45° slot covers 45° and 135°, and the lower 90° slot completes the set.
Sourced from a well-regarded factory in Pakistan, this tool is made of super hard tool steel rated at 58 HRC. It looks virtually identical to more expensive European-made versions from Switzerland and France. While the surface is more likely to show wear marks from files than those European models, it remains a highly serviceable tool at a significantly lower price point.
The tool measures 1-7/8" × 2-1/2" and holds stock up to 1/2" thick. There is a 35 mm distance between the small integrated stop along both the flat 90° slot and the 45° slot to the edge of the tool, allowing you to hold and cut flat sheet up to that 35 mm length. It can be mounted in a vise or held in the hand — saw or file against it for perfectly flat results every time.
Warning: Certain files, including Glardon-Vallorbe Valtitan files, are as hard or harder than this jig vise. In that case, they will mark the vise. Strong force with just about any file may scratch the vise and can damage your file. Marks made on the vise are not an indication of a defect — only that the tool being used against the vise is harder than the tool itself.
