The Fretz HMR-12 Sharp Texturing/Raising Hammer is a precision metalsmithing tool designed for jewelers and metalsmiths who demand exacting detail work. With dual flat/sharp faces measuring 19mm × 3mm and 19mm × 1.5mm, this hammer excels at creating fine hammered textures on rings and other metal surfaces. Its raising capability—compressing metal down to the stake without stretching—makes it equally suited for forming extreme tight curves in jewelry work.
The hammer head is cast from 420 stainless steel, hardened to 50Rc, and polished to a high mirror finish that transfers cleanly to your work. The handle is crafted from African Padauk (a variety of Rosewood), shaped and finished to deliver exceptional balance and a smooth, comfortable grip. Handle color may range from dark brown to a lighter shade, as Fretz occasionally sources recycled Asian Padauk—variation is natural to the material.
