The Meiji EMZ-10 Stereo Zoom Microscope paired with the GRS Acrobat stand and LED light source is a complete, professional-grade microscopy kit designed for jewelers, engravers, and metalsmiths. The EMZ-10 features a longer working distance than the EMZ-5 — 110mm (4-3/8") versus 93mm (3-5/8") — a difference of approximately 17mm (3/4"). This additional clearance makes the EMZ-10 the preferred choice for bench-top work where hands, tools, and work-holding devices require more room between the scope and the work surface. As a general guide, choose the EMZ-10 if you prefer to work on top of your bench; choose the EMZ-5 if you prefer to work lower, closer to your catch tray.
The kit ships with a 0x Protective Lens (Meiji MA531, #129.409B), which preserves the standard 110mm working distance without alteration. Optional auxiliary lenses are available separately to extend working distance further — at the trade-off of reduced maximum magnification. Because most jewelry and engraving tasks are performed at lower magnifications, this trade-off is rarely a limitation in practice.
The included LED light source (#129.934) operates on dual voltage (110V/220V) and features adjustable intensity for versatile bench illumination.

| Field of View | 32mm – 5.1mm |
| Working Distance (standard) | 110mm (4-3/8") |
| Eyetube Inclination | 45° |
| Interpupillary Distance | 54mm – 75mm |
| Dioptric Adjustment | Dual (±5 diopters) |
| Extended Magnification Range | 2.1x – 270x (with auxiliary lenses) |
| Extended Working Distance Range | 45mm – 326mm (with auxiliary lenses) |
| LED Light Source Voltage | Dual voltage: 110V / 220V |
Auxiliary lenses (sold separately) allow you to adjust working distance to suit your bench setup, height, chair, and work-holding preferences. Increasing working distance reduces maximum magnification; however, since most jewelry work occurs at lower magnifications, this is generally not a concern. The table below shows how magnification and working distance change for the EMZ-10 with 10x eyepieces across available auxiliary lenses.
| Lens | Part # | Working Distance (EMZ-10) | Field of View | Magnification |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0x Protective Lens MA531 | 129.409B | 110mm | 32mm – 5.1mm | 7x – 45x |
| .3x Auxiliary Lens MA530 | 129.411 | 326mm | 109mm – 17mm | 2.1x – 13.5x |
| .5x Auxiliary Lens MA517 | 129.412 | 194mm | 65.7mm – 10.2mm | 3.5x – 22.5x |
| .75x Auxiliary Lens MA526 | 129.413 | 127mm | 43.8mm – 6.8mm | 5.25x – 33.75x |
