The Glardon-Vallorbe Barrette Precision File (LP1060) is a Swiss Made precision file tapered in both width and thickness, coming to a rounded point at the end. Only the flat side of a barrette file is cut, leaving a safe edge and safe top — making it ideal for filing in tight areas without disturbing adjacent surfaces. Measurements are taken at the thickest point of the file.
Manufactured to exacting production standards using a combination of machine cutting and hand craftsmanship, these files are made from fine heat-tempered chrome alloy steel. The result is exceptional accuracy, superior cutting action, and outstanding longevity. Glardon-Vallorbe precision files deliver consistent performance across all metals and are widely regarded as the world's standard for quality and performance. File length is measured from the point where the teeth begin to the end of the file. A 6" precision file, for example, measures approximately 8-1/2" from tip to end of tang, but is designated a 6" file. Cut grades run from 00 (extra coarse) to 4 (fine) — the higher the number, the finer the cut.
