Product Details

Fine Cut Light Green 1/4" Plastic Pyramids are plastic-bonded abrasive media designed for wet tumbling and vibratory finishing. Used with a small amount of water and an appropriate detergent compound, this fine-cut media refines surfaces on soft and medium-hard metals to a smooth, pre-polish condition. Typically the third step in a progressive tumbling sequence, these pyramid-shaped pieces reach edges and interior features effectively. Sold in a 1 lb pack.

Features

  • Fine-cut plastic pyramids for very smooth surface conditioning
  • Excellent on softer metals including aluminum, brass, zinc, and copper alloys
  • Pyramid shape accesses edges and interior features effectively
  • Prepares parts for burnishing with steel shot or dry final polish
  • Approximately 30% lighter than ceramic media; does not peen burrs or discolor metals
  • Suitable for parts destined for anodizing, plating, or painting
  • Formerly white — dye lots may vary; cutting action remains consistent

Recommended Process Pathway

  1. Coarse cut – establish a uniform surface and remove burrs using Coarse Cut Brown 1/4" Plastic Pyramids.
  2. Medium cut – refine the surface using Medium Cut Dark Green 1/4" Plastic Pyramids.
  3. Fine cut (this media) – smooth to pre-polish condition.
  4. Optional burnish – brighten with stainless steel mixed shot, or proceed directly to a dry final polish.

Notes

  • Maintain a light slurry with water; add detergent compound as needed during the cycle.
  • Check parts periodically — cycle time varies depending on alloy, mass, and machine type.
  • Plastic media does not peen burrs and will not discolor metals, making it well suited for pre-finishing prior to anodizing, plating, or painting.
