Ransom & Randolph Plasticast Investment is engineered specifically for use with the new generation of plastic and resin pattern (RP) materials — the only water-based investment on the market proven to perform successfully with these challenging substrates. As rapid-prototyping and resin-printed patterns have become standard in modern casting workflows, traditional investments often struggle to accommodate their unique expansion and thermal characteristics. Plasticast was developed to meet that demand directly.

With the wide variety of RP materials available and their correspondingly different burnout behaviors, Plasticast delivers the strength and forgiveness needed to eliminate flashing and spalling — two of the most common failure points when casting with resin patterns.
