Ransom & Randolph Ultra-Vest with BANDUST is specially formulated to significantly reduce total respirable dust from mixing and quenching silica-based investment — by up to 99% compared to Kerr Satin Cast and 97% compared to regular R&R Ultra-Vest.

BANDUST is not a new type of investment powder. It is a substance added to R&R investment that binds small particles to the investment material, reducing respirable dust at the source. First developed in Europe, Ransom & Randolph has refined its use to deliver a product that dramatically cuts dust without compromising casting performance. The BANDUST safety feature changes nothing about casting results — no adjustment to powder-to-water ratio or any other step in your investment process is required.

Ultra-Vest with BANDUST is an excellent investment for casting in gold, silver, and other alloys that cast at or below 2,200°F (1,204°C). It produces a very smooth surface finish and mixes much like original Ultra-Vest, with only minor changes to set-up time and no meaningful change in dissolving time during quenching or breakout. It is process-friendly and not as instruction-critical as some competing investments, though following mixing instructions consistently yields the best repeatable results. R&R investments are known for consistent batch-to-batch performance.
