This smaller corrugating rolling mill — also known as an ondulator — is a simple, direct-drive mill designed for adding a corrugated effect to thin gauges of soft metal sheet. It is used primarily for corrugating thin bezel wire and decorative sheet work. The mill must be mounted in a vise or attached securely to a workbench before use.
For use with soft precious metal sheet up to 24mm wide. Best results are achieved with 30 gauge (0.25mm / 0.010") sheet. Thicker material can be attempted, but the corrugated effect becomes less pronounced — trials with 26 gauge (0.40mm / 0.016") copper sheet produced more of a surface marking effect than true corrugation.
This is a direct-drive mill without the size or leverage required to process hard or thick metals. Attempting to do so risks damage to the rolls or the frame.
