Otto Frei Half-Round/ Flat 5-1/8" Fully Polished "Naked" Forming Pliers

These fully polished 5-1/8" half-round/flat forming pliers feature one half-round jaw and one flat jaw, designed for forming rings and gently curving metal and other materials. Known as "Naked" pliers, they are made without leaf springs or vinyl grips — a configuration originally requested by the Revere Academy. Because the handles are left plain and fully exposed, they require more hand polishing than spring-and-grip models, which accounts for their slightly higher price point.

Otto Frei mirror-polished pliers are handmade in a small, family-owned factory in Germany, where the craft of producing high-quality jeweler's tools has been passed down through generations. The signature mirror polish and meticulous construction distinguish these pliers from similarly priced alternatives. Each pair is perfectly balanced, precisely formed at the tips, and finished to the highest standard of fit and finish available. These are the same pliers made in the same factory as the Revere pliers — the only difference is the handle treatment: Otto Frei Naked pliers have plain handles, while Revere pliers feature scalloped dental-style handles.

All Otto Frei German-made pliers are constructed from tough carbon steel, which outlasts stainless steel in durability. Note that carbon steel is susceptible to rust if exposed to moisture or the elements — store and protect your pliers when not in use.
