Coral is an organic gem, composed of the external skeletons of coral polyps. Formed from calcium carbonate with no crystal structure, coral has been prized in jewelry for over 30,000 years — from prehistoric times to the present day. Though demand remains high, supply is increasingly limited due to pollution and environmental protection measures. These round cabochons display a rich red-orange color and are well suited for setting in rings, pendants, earrings, and other fine jewelry applications.

Because coral is a relatively soft organic material, it requires careful handling. Avoid exposure to chemicals, heat, and abrasion. Clean only with warm, soapy water. Do not use ultrasonic or steam cleaners.
