Designed specifically for closing and tightening prongs, these stone setting pliers are handcrafted in Germany by one of the last manufacturers of hand-made pliers remaining in Europe. The jaws are precision-grooved to hold prongs firmly in place during tightening and are angled to apply pressure uniformly across the prong—reducing the risk of slipping or uneven setting. At 130 mm in length, they offer comfortable leverage for bench work.
These pliers are forged from tough carbon steel, which is significantly harder than stainless steel and well suited to the demands of professional stone setting. As with all carbon steel tools, they will develop a natural patina over time—a characteristic many jewelers regard as a mark of a well-used and trusted bench tool. With proper care, they will provide years of reliable service.

Carbon steel tools will develop a natural patina when exposed to moisture. To maintain their condition, store the pliers wrapped in an oiled rag, wipe them down at the end of each use, and polish occasionally with green rouge. Keeping them away from humid environments will prevent surface oxidation.
