Designed for securing the tips of pinstems, these top-opening safety catches are made of nickel silver — an alloy containing mostly nickel and no silver. Each catch features a fusion nib that allows attachment using a fusion machine with the appropriate holding jig. The nib can be easily filed away when a flush solder fit is preferred. Sold in packs of 12.

Notes
To ensure proper functioning after soldering, enameling, and final pickling or bright dipping — and before turning — boil catches in water with a small amount of soap and ammonia added. Dry without rinsing. After plating, if catches bind, apply liquid wax to the slot with a pin.
