Ring Reducing Plate

This high quality Italian made double sided reducing plate has sixteen openings (eight to a side) and is smoothly polished to prevent marring. Each hole starts at the same diameter but has different tapers on each side. The original use of this reducing plate is used to slightly reduce the size of plain round precious metal (gold and platinum) wedding bands when used with a ring stretching and reducing tool. This reducing ring is made to fit our Italian made ring stretcher and reducer 148.350, which has a round plate that pushes down on the ring when the lever of the tool is pulled.

For reducing ring sizes the 27mm outside diameter of the largest hole should be able to reduce a USA size 13-14 plain domed band of medium weight a full size. The outside diameter of the ring is the limiting feature, not the ring size of the band.

A new use for this reducing plate is for making coin rings.
