Durston Professional Razor Flush Tapered Cutters are engineered with laser-precision edges that deliver seamless, repeatable cuts with minimal pinch. The tapered head design provides enhanced access to close work areas and fine details, while protecting the tips from damage by directing the cutting action to the center of the jaw — the strongest part of the blade.

These cutters feature a lap joint construction, where one half overlaps the other with a screw set through both halves. This design allows the joint tension to be adjusted as needed for consistent performance over time.

The double-leaf spring mechanism consists of flat, tempered metal tabs mounted to the inside of each handle. These tabs hold the handles apart and the jaws open until squeezed closed, providing a fast, strong rebound for enhanced productivity during repetitive cutting tasks.

Ergonomic poly handles deliver a comfortable grip that reduces hand fatigue during extended use.

Important: Durston cutters are not guaranteed. Stated cutting limits apply to soft copper wire only. Metal alloys commonly used in jewelry are significantly harder. All flush cutters are precision instruments — use the middle of the cutting edge whenever possible and exercise care when cutting near the tips.

Avoid nickel-based white gold alloys. If tip damage occurs, the undamaged side may be ground down to match and the cutter can continue to be used. Dents in the cutting surface indicate the material being cut exceeds the capacity of the cutter. Flush cutters as used in the jewelry industry should be considered consumable tools.
