Glardon-Vallorbe of Switzerland brings their legendary steel expertise to a specialized beading tool design: the Conical Shape Beading Tool. Unlike standard spherical beading tools, these tools produce a taller, cone-shaped bead. The outline of the tool is round, but the interior cavity is deeper, resulting in a conical bead profile rather than a spherical one. This distinction makes them a precise choice for setters who require an elevated, pointed bead finish.
Glardon-Vallorbe beading tools are recognized for their exceptional hardness and durability. Each tool is crafted from chromium steel hardened to 64–66 HRC, allowing them to hold their shape longer and reduce the frequency of resharpening. A defining feature of every Glardon-Vallorbe beading tool is the perfectly formed calotte — the proper term for the tool's edges — which features a rounded outer edge and a sharp inner edge. This precision edge geometry, visible under magnification, means each tool is ready to use straight from the box with no pre-polishing required.
Each tool is trademarked with the Glardon-Vallorbe name separated by the factory's fish logo on one side and Swiss Made on the other. Individual size numbers (00–07) are marked on each tool for easy identification. Beading tools are known as Perloirs in French, Korneisen in German, and Perleros in Spanish.
