Glardon-Vallorbe Buff Files bring precision ceramic finishing to the familiar needle file form. These are not traditional cut files — they are ceramic-coated burnishing and finishing tools shaped like needle files, designed to reach tight areas where emery sticks, abrasive paper, or stones fall short. Available in seven classic needle file profiles, they deliver consistent, controlled surface finishing in a tool jewelers, watchmakers, and machinists already know how to use.

The working surface is coated with a composite containing synthetic diamond particles. The factory abrasiveness rating is G10, equivalent to approximately 500–800 grit (30–20 micron) under normal pressure. With light pressure, performance approaches 900–1200 grit (20–15 micron). Buff files will eliminate marks left by the finest cut files (cut 8) and leave a refined, burnished surface.

The anti-corrosive coating resists rust. The rigid construction allows you to create and maintain sharp edges. These tools excel on hard materials including titanium, steel, and high-karat white gold alloys, and can also be used on enamel surfaces. On softer metals such as gold, occasional cleaning is recommended — use an ultrasonic cleaner, a quick dip in alcohol, or Bergeon Rodico cleaning rubber.

Typical applications include beveling, flank finishing, deburring, sprue line cleanup on castings, and finishing steps that would otherwise require abrasive rubber wheels.
