David Baird's Metalartz Layout Jig Set

These three clear acrylic jigs take the guesswork out of bench layout: cutting accurate bezel blanks, finding the center of a disc, and dividing a circle into equal segments. David Baird's Metalartz Layout Jig Set gathers all three in one set, developed by David Baird, a jeweler and educator with nearly four decades of experience, and made in the USA for professional bench use.

Features

• 17 Degree Cone Template Layout Jig (135.107): Determines the correct shape and size of metal to cut when using a 17-degree round bezel block. Place your round stone in the slot, then capture the correct arc using graphite tracing, a compass, or clear tape. Includes indexes for laying out 4- and 6-prong settings.
• Center Finder (135.109): Quickly locates the center of round discs using a V-slot sized for an ultra-fine point marker. Draw two or three lines by rotating the disc for increased accuracy. The top plate adjusts for symmetry checking by loosening the screws and repositioning. Measures 3-1/2" x 3-1/2".
• 3-Piece Division Plates Layout Jig Set (135.111): Three 4" x 4" clear acrylic plates, each 3 mm thick, marked with radial spoke divisions for rapid and precise angle layout. One plate divides by 3 (3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24 divisions), one by 4 (4, 8, 16, 32 divisions), and one by 5 (5, 10, 20 divisions). Transfer patterns to tape using pencil carbon, then apply to metal for accurate layout transfer.
