Fretz BF-1 Wavy Brass Form

New from Bill Fretz, this brass bracelet blank is pre-cut in a wavy form that will translate into a variety of beautiful bracelet designs. This is the shape that Bill Fretz uses in a series of jewelry projects first showed in the January/February 2014 edition of Lapidary Journal/Jewelry Artist Magazine. This non-annealed brass bracelet blank has a lot of work put into it as it is cut, edge sanded and then tumbled making for a blank that is ready to start working with.

The blank is 8-1/2" (215mm) long and 1-1/4" (32mm) wide at its widest point.

"The BF-1 is the first in a line of new creative brass blanks. The BF-1 can be made in to a concave and also convex shapes. The BF-1 can be cut shorter for smaller sizes. These blanks are 19 gauge, the thickness recommended by my instructor Hans Christiansen as the ideal gauge for hollow-ware. 19 gauge is the "Goldilocks thickness" as 18 gauge is too heavy and 20 gauge is too light."
